Fowler and Cuthbertson plough at Loch Ard Forest
Forestry Commission copyright images of Forest Research photographs courtesy of Glenn Brearley, Roslin. B869
Caption reads ‘Fowler FT3 Tractor towing SMB Cuthbertson. Loch Ard 1949.’
Appears to be another view of Forestry Commission outfit Reg No JXK102 and FC No 0301 carrying out some draining with an F type head. Note the arched frame (with revolution counter) on this plough taking place of the original square frame of its predecessors.
The plough is crossing a soft deep peat flat with some hard to see dips. The plough is lift right up and may be on its travelling hooks if the winch does not have a good bake mechanism.
Can anyone identify the actual location?
