Two files containing about 65 Head Quarters Mechanical Development Committee Reports from 1950 to 1958 were saved from destruction by Jim Christie former Forestry Commission HQ, Plant Engineer. Jim, from Crook of Devon, has kindly made the reports available for scanning and entry onto this website. Please open the PDF to see this full report.

Report No 65 covered the results of a trial between the two peeling machines and although the quality of product was similar from both, the outputs were significantly higher from the Cundey.

This report set the cat among the pigeons as indicated by the Director’s (England) hand written note and follow up comments from the senior staff as the attached note slips indicate. It seems that there were 6 Bezner and 10 Cundey machines in operation in England at this time.
