Ben Shian and Strathyre Forestry Houses

Beautiful view of the tree covered slopes above the Strathyre Forestry Houses. The outlines of the straight edged compartments can be seen but they are more indistinct in the rougher and higher ground around the unplanted top of Ben Shian.
The 12 semi-detached timber Forestry Houses at typical of the time in the late 40s and early 50s when large numbers of these buildings were erected in forests all over Scotland. There were several different models or types and the writer has heard of Finnish and Swedish being used to describe them. These are one and half storeys high whereas some were a full two storeys and some forester houses were a single bungalow type. Can anyone say where the house kits came from and who built them?
Does anyone remember living here in Strathyre or know anyone who did? Is that an Anglia with back sloping rear window and Mini car in the vehicle line up outside the buildings?
The old Forestry Hostel or camp site on the extreme right hand site is perhaps just out of view behind the large trees but may have been dismantled by the time this photograph was taken.
