Old Granny Scots pine — where?

Old Granny Scots pine — where?

Date Added: 23 July 2013 Contributor: Norman Davidson Year of Photo: 1970 Picture No: 1894

Photograph taken by Don MacCaskill and image courtesy of Bridget MacCaskill, Strathyre. Don was based as Head Forester at Inverinan from about 1960 through to about 1968 before transferring initially to Allean Forest and then Strathyre Forest in1972.

Can anyone identify this location and confirm if that is native Scots pine wood in the back ground photographed circa 1970s?

Looks like Beinn a'Bhuird in the background suggesting upper Glen Quoich in the southern Cairngorms.
The NTS at Mar Lodge might be able to give a better location, and the possibility of more recent photos from there, or nearby, showing the natural regen since their control of grazing.
