Forestry Commission Fire Sign

A view of a fire sign taken perhaps in the 50s or early 60s. The colours in the photograph have washed out a little as the vitreous enamel blues and yellows were much more vibrant. The backing sheet was a thin metal plate but the signs lasted many years and old rusted slowly even if suffering from vandalism or other mistreatment.
