Forestry Golf outing
The photograph is courtesy of the family of George Dey. George took many forestry photographs in his forestry career and many of those are now shown on this web site. Check under ‘Groups’ and George Dey Collection.
This annual event was often organised by forestry staff keen on the game but open to all retired and working private forestry and FC staff who could mange the day off as a holiday. The golf venue moved around the country quite a bit in different years.
At the table working out the prize winners are Norman Munro Former FC Acquisition Officer), Unidentified but thought to be a saw doctor and Willie Watson (Kirriemuir sawmill owner). The lady just in the picture is not identified but could be Mrs Munro?
In the attached PDF, Norman Munro and ?? are presenting prizes firstly to Brian Stanger (Harvesting Head Forester in Bennachie) and secondly to Chris Innes (Conservancy Office Head of IT and Computers).
Can someone provide names?
Cannot identify the Lady making the presentations, but the wooden trophy was called the "Rose Bowl".
In Brian Stangers presentation photo, the gentleman to the right is John Straiton (FC) and to the left is Dave Lyall who owned a shop in Muir of Ord. Comment left on 04 August 2014 at 09:54 by Eric Brown
