The photograph is courtesy of the family of George Dey. George took many forestry photographs in his forestry career and many of those are now shown on this web site. Check under ‘Groups’ and George Dey Collection.

A large tour group consisting of members of the Royal Scottish, English, Welsh and Northern Ireland Forestry Societies tour the forests in North Scotland and now in Darnaway Estate where they are walking through some very magnificent beech trees. The PDF shows them in a very fine Douglas fir stand, some transplant types and then having a picnic lunch overlooking the Findhorn River gorge. The final shot is of Lord Moray handing over a prize to a group member.
