Joint Forestry Societies’ Tour of North Scot

A large tour group consisting of members of the Royal Scottish, English, Welsh and Northern Ireland Forestry Societies tour the forests in north Sutherland. No doubt the ongoing discussions and controversies of planting on the peat lands of North Scotland prompted this part of the tour enabling the members to get first hand experience of the subject.
This stop is on the high point in Dalchork Forest (Near Cnoc Olasdal) which gives a view over the northern part of the forest and surrounding countryside. Here Arkle Fraser (Forest District Manager for Dornoch FD) is speaking to the assembled group. In the next image on the PDF the mike is taken over by Jim Atterson (Conservator North Scotland) and the other images show the some of the listeners and also everyone having a picnic lunch in the sunshine.
