RSFS (northern) Visit Dalchork Forest, Lairg

This is a two day visit to forestry areas in northern Sutherland and Caithness no doubt arising from the growing discussions and wildlife organisations’ concerns on continued large scale planting in the ‘Flow Country’.
The first visit is to Dalchork Forest just north of Lairg which included a total area of over 10,000 ha large areas of which were unplanted. The map gives some indication of the deer passes and other unplanted areas. Holding and examining the map are Arkle Fraser (Dornoch Forest District Manager), Jim Atterson (Conservator North Scotland) and on the right hand side Donnie Williams (Nursery Manager Forres) and ?
