RSFS Visit to Banff and Buchan Nurseries
The photograph is courtesy of the family of George Dey. George took many forestry photographs in his forestry career and many of those are now shown on this web site. Check under ‘Groups’ and George Dey Collection.
Members of the Royal Scottish Forestry Society on a tour around the Morayshire area have dropped into Banff and Buchan Nurseries at that time sited just south of Portsoy.
Alan Mackay (Forestry Commission Inverness) can be seen on the right with open jacket and dark tie. Can any more people be named?

I was a Director at the nursery and am on extreme right of the photo. Extreme left is my partner at the time Robin Currie. Not far from me in the white shirt and brown jacket is the late Duncan Ross, later of Cheviot Trees and centre with the beard and blue jacket is Derek McDonald later of Christie Elite and Aberdeen Tree Nursery.

This photo is taken at Clune Nursery 1 mile south of Cullen. I am far right, and Duncan Ross in white jumper 3 in from me. Duncan later went to Cheviot Trees in 1994/5. Derek McDonald centre with the beard and my partner Robin Currie with the bunnet furthest left. We are looking at 1 year budded stock of Sorbus Lombarts Hybrids varieties. I may get more names when I blow it up a little.
