The photograph is courtesy of the family of George Dey. George took many forestry photographs in his forestry career and many of those are now shown on this web site. Check under ‘Groups’ and George Dey Collection.

Members of the Royal Scottish Forestry Society on a tour around the Morayshire area have dropped into Buckie Shipyard Ltd at that time owned by James Jones and Sons Larbert. Mr J Buchan points out some of the timber which is to be used in boatbuilding. Later images in the PDF show possibly the design workshop with models of past builds, large baulks of oak being lifted by crane, outside views of the boats in the yards, evidence of the change to metal fabrication and one new timber built boat being constructed. Must have been around the last of them?
