Another interesting development in the use of Fire Foam in helicopter water buckets. Perhaps limitations on flexibility and speed with John Martin’s bucket idea, PLM and the Northern Area Fire Service have come up with the idea of again pouring the foam straight into the bucket and letting the mixture drop onto the fire hoping that as it streams out of the bottom valve and down through the air it creates a foamy mixture.
In the PDFs the mixture looks spectacular coming out of the bucket but the trail of foam on the ground is perhaps marginally effective at this stage.
