The Steyr KSK 16 Skyline Winch operating in a large clearfell site in South Strome Forest. The cable crane was initially purchased by Riddochs of Rothiemay to help maintain their supply of timber from the mountainous forests on the west coast to their new sawmill at Corpach, Fort William.

It required very large clearfell sites to justify the expense and time to set up the whole rig. The PDF shows more views of the crane, its complex rigging, large carriage and also large working site crossing several forest roads.

Any stories and information on working with this machine would be very welcome
