Felling 50 year old Sitka Glen Brittle Forest

This is one of a series of photographs which continue in the attached PDF showing Jocky Towns (though to be anyway) felling a large spruce tree. This view shows Jocky starting his cut from the side but leaving a small hinge attached at the front. Secondly (in the PDF) he has worked his way around the large tree base. Thirdly Jocky has cut all the way round the tree but still leaving a hinge area uncut in front of the face but the tree is leaning slightly back away from the direction he wants to fell it and having inserted the breaking bar is now levering with considerable force to tip the tree in the desired direction. Fourthly, the tree is pushed over the tipping point and starting to fall on its own. Jocky is carefully watching the direction of fall for safety and also for any debris that might come down. Fifth, it’s on the deck!
Can anyone provide more details on Jocky and whether he was a contractor?
