Hand Fertilising Aline Forest, Lewis
The photograph is courtesy of the family of George Dey. George took many forestry photographs in his forestry career and many are now shown on this web site. Check under ‘Groups’ and George Dey Collection.
Part of Aline Forest on Lewis was used for Forest Research purposes and here fertiliser is being hand applied to the Lodgepole pine (The dense branching indicates possible Alaskan variety). The note on the slide has two names - Malcolm Macdonald and A Smith but no other information as to whether they were Research Workers or others based in Lewis.
Can anyone help with the names of the men in the photograph?
