Torrachilty - Falstone extracting thinnings
The photograph is courtesy of the family of George Dey. George took many forestry photographs in his forestry career and many are now shown on this web site. Check under ‘Groups’ and George Dey Collection.
The Falstone double drum winch skidder appears to be hauling out Lodgepole pine thinnings which are being converted into pulp at roadside. The registration number of the machine is PSC498V but the FC number on the engine cover cannot be made out.
Note all the spare rope slings hanging on pins at the back of the guard plate. Later photographs indicate that this is FC 78515 and is operated by Donzie MacLean
