A bit of heavy engineering at roadside. The International tractor, registration TGF524M (1973-4) is getting a bit long in the tooth by this year and must have been due for replacement. Some work has been required which entailed splitting the track chains and by the effort being applied it looks as though they are now trying to bring the top track chain into line with the front idler wheel and then haul it over so that it is ready to meet the other half when it is lifted upwards.
The man on the extreme right looks very like tractor driver Jackie Macdonald. The name of the other, possibly the mechanic, is not known. Please check the PDF for larger image. Can anyone name him and confirm if the other is Jackie? The mechanic’s van registration KYU910P may help.
Can the forest be named also?
