The photograph is courtesy of the family of George Dey. George took many forestry photographs in his forestry career and many are now shown on this web site. Check under ‘Groups’ and George Dey Collection.

This one of three photographs showing a Bruunett 578F with a Cranab crane working somewhere in the Glenelg area (Glen Beag?).

Can anyone provide any information on the driver and machine? See the attached PDF for more images.

I think this could be Sandy Powers he was working in the Glenelg area at this time, the same man and machine had contracts on Panmure estate a few years earlier. If I remember correctly he bought this forwarder second hand from Finland along with a very early type Bm volvo timber harvester. I remember Sandy Powers had a fully rotating grab installed on the Cranab lift arm hence the red color, this made it much easier in line thinnings and rack roads. Comment left on 06 January 2017 at 13:07 by
Also looking at the pdf photos the tree stumps are far to high a real killer for a forwarder. Comment left on 07 January 2017 at 00:18 by
