Malcolm Wield and the Dingwall office staff team have dug deep and provided the following information and the names of people from left to right at the old Torrachilty Forest office.
Caught in an ungarded moment by the camera Finlay MacRae District Officer at a wee gathering to welcome Val MacDonald Torrachilty as a clerkess (just left school)and give farewell to Anne Cameron who was leaving to get married. Christine 'Effie' Mackenzie (PA to Finlay in the Dingwall Office)is sitting on right of Anne Cameron at Torrachilty Forest Office, Contin.
Bill Rayner adds ‘This is the old Torrachilty main office. Finlay is sitting in Val's place and the envelopes are to prevent the glare of the sun from blinding you when trying to fill in the paperwork. When I arrived in 1981, I was allotted the bench space on the right of the picture. Previously occupied by John Spittal and afore him Willie Beattie (Snr). View through the window is of the fish hatchery at Contin, adjacent to the old office'.
