This view of the Glen Brittle Forest worker houses at Eynort takes in a brief view of the Loch Eynort in the distance.

Can anyone confirm what type of timber houses these are? There are descriptions of timber houses as Swedish or Finnish. Some are one and half storey such as these and some are full two storeys but most seem to be two houses in one building.

How many buildings formed this ‘forestry village’ and who stayed there?

The tiles on the roof were cedar. We think the walls were Norway spruce. There were 8 houses in this row and a bungalow of the same timber in Grula where the Forester lived. No 1 was always the MacPherson family, 2 was loads of different people manly contractors etc. No 3 was Iain MacCaskill, No 4 was Bill Miller, No 5 David Blakley, No 6 Pete Grounds, No 7 John-Norman Morrison and No 8 a few different family's manly contractors. The houses are Swedish houses, which were as prefab timber houses after World War II. The wood is Baltic pine. Refer to the website of Prefab Museum- Swedish house for more information.

I am trying to find out if this is where my uncle lived would be in the late sixties and where I holidayed and enjoyed walking to the loch and through Glen Brittle forest learning names iof the wild flowers and birds et .

Would anyone be able to confirm if my uncle Angus Walker and his wife Margaret lived in one of the Glen Eynort forestry houses in the late sixties if I am correct 2 of my cousins would also have been born and lived there
