One of the early annual Bailies’ picnics held at the Back o’Bennachie car park where there is a quite a large open field. The Bailies of Bennachie were instrumental in advising and guiding the Forestry Commission in the provision of car parks, forest walks and picnic sites around Bennachie Forest during the early 1970s. The voluntary organisation has continued to work closely with the Forestry Commission on matters pertaining to Bennachie up to the present day.
