Forecast GB timber production in 2000
The photograph is courtesy of the family of George Dey. Check under ‘Groups’ and George Dey Collection.
George has taken some photographs of a forest promotion display at some location not recorded. This particular image shows the levels of timber production in GB in 1970 with forecasts up until the year 2000.
The author does not have the full figures to hand of the actual 2000 production output but the GB total was around 8.8 Million m3 of which 5.3 was from the FC.
The forecast graph shows a GB total of approx 8.5 Mm3 and FC total of 5.3Mm3
The actual production years are open to question – year ending March 2000 or year ending March 2001.
It would be interesting to get the actual published figures quoted for comparison but the above predictions look very close!
