Hi I worked at Ben Reid's in 1980 to get experience for horticultural training. I remember sitting on a cabbage planter, probably the one above and lining out trees. Keith was the tractor driver. The women's bothy was an education ! Surprisingly I stayed in horticulture ! I can remember lining out conifers in April or May in a snowstorm. A tarpaulin was put over the planter to keep us warmer. I just remember the cold air rushing underneath. It was like sitting in a freezer.

William Duff & suns nursery Forfar where I was a tractor driver in the 1970s used two of these machines unfortunately I can not remember the maker.Tthey were mounted on two Massey Ferguson 135s with special reduction gear boxes working in tandom. A dead slow forward speed was maintained but was well fast enough for feeding the plants in. The only issue I found was weight distribution.
