Photographs are courtesy of John Keenleyside, Forres, who is the student on the extreme left.

John recalls ‘This was a working group of students relaxing for lunch break in the forest on the edge of a clear fell site. Species being felled was European Larch with and average volume of 50 hoppus feet’

(This is a very large tree as there are about 28 hoppus feet in a cubic metre).
