The new winch is at work in Inverliever Forest. The winch operates in ‘highlead’ mode with no fixed skyline. The tower is short but the natural concave slopes of the forest suit this set up perfectly and as they are working in small areas of wind blow there are plenty of spar trees down in the forest to fix the cable assembly onto. This machine must have been imported directly from Norway/Sweden and fixed on the Ferguson 35 tractor at some workshop. There is mention of John Drummond being on site and he could have been involved in the winch operation training.

Can anyone name the winch operator?
