Launch on Lochawe with timber raft
The photograph is courtesy of the family of George Dey. George took many forestry photographs in his forestry career and some are now shown on this web site.
There is some uncertainly over the year this photograph was taken as the boat is quite different from those seen in George’s black and white images. Possibly of significance is and entry in his diary of 26 Oct 1960 ‘Inverliever – New Boat arrived’.
Can anyone remember this launch type vessel, its name and when it arrived on the Loch? Perhaps someone might recognise the two men operating the boat and doing some timber rafting.
