Ploughing Glendoll

Ploughing Glendoll

Date Added: 12 November 2012 Contributor: Norman Davidson Year of Photo: 1954 Picture No: 1313

The photograph is courtesy of the family of George Dey. George took many forestry photographs in his forestry career and some are now shown on this web site.

This photograph shows a driver ploughing downhill on his wide tracked Caterpillar tractor with large winch on the back. Perhaps someone can identify the model type of tractor. Unfortunately the Forestry Commission number cannot be identified. Can anyone name the driver?

Again this is a Caterpillar D4 7U Series, equipped with Hyster D4 Towing winch and running on 24 inch track plates. Comment left on 10 December 2012 at 22:49 by Ian Cameron of Abergairn, Ballater.
