Cuthbertson Plough in Glendoll
The photograph is courtesy of the family of George Dey. George took many forestry photographs in his forestry career and some are now shown on this web site.
A fine image of a Cuthbertson plough showing clearly the rope lifting mechanisms which draws the plough beam closer to the top of the arch to effect shallower ploughing or lift plough head completely clear of the ground. Note the solid metal drum wheels which were replaced with large tractor wheels, doubled up, in later years.
