Lining out plough Fettereso circa 1954
The photograph is courtesy of the family of George Dey. George took many forestry photographs in his forestry career and some are now shown on this web site.
The lining out plough is placing soil against the roots of the pine hanging down from the lining out boards. The plough is also cutting a new face for the next set of lining out board.
The plough is almost certainly a Talbot lining out plough which was further developed at Ledmore Nursery in Sandy Rose’s time 1954-1960. The tractor type and operator have not been identified. Can anyone help?

The F.C. sold this tractor to a small holder in Milltimber, and I bought it from him for £39 in 1958.
My son I still have two identical tractors. Comment left on 08 November 2012 at 13:21 by Ian Cameron of Abergairn, Ballater.
