This is a photograph of my Uncle Johnnie, who died last year, and I am very pleased to see it as I have few photographs of him, and none from his working career. He was a deeply patriotic Scot, who had the warmest respect for the honourable character of the men whom he met and worked with while he was on the Black Isle. He told me about this when I visited a couple of years before his death. Thank you for posting this -- a part of that vital archiving of Scottish people which is so important for the future.

There was John McGavin Forester on Isle of Jura, when I worked under him for a few months in 1967. Planting trees mainly. I guess that's him in the photo. I'm in New Zealand.
