Hand Draining in Bin Forest - Huntly

Photographs courtesy of the family of the late Davy Anderson, former Chief Forester. The Bin Forest has been described as 'nothin bit steens and water'. This picture of a team of 3 men digging around a large stone whilst hand draining seems to bear out the truth of the statement. The shoe clad foot of the supervising forester can be seen in the back ground. Note the type of trousers and gaiters? In the larger picture a wider view of the scene with the draining team in the distance and stones manhandled to the surface.
