Tractor and Sulky at Ardross Forest

A small crawler tractor (International?) driven by Sandy Esson is pulling felled trees out up hill to roadside where they will be cut into product lengths. The Cromarty Firth and the Black Isle can be seen in the back ground.
It is difficult to see the head of the sulky in detail and but the large box structure could be to accommodate the tag chains which are likely to have been used to attach each tree to the tractor winch rope. Can anyone explain?

Sandy Esson - I went to visit him and his daughter Ebe in June this year (2012) and we as always had a great blether about the old FC days. Sandy is now well in his 80's but still as fit as a fiddle ! Sandy and I go back a very long way. We were neighbours at Fox Farm and both of us drove road squad tippers back in the mid 60's. I have asked him if he has any old photos taken during his FC days and we will see if he can find any.
