The Forestry Commission harvesting and road engineering teams had parked their vehicles up at Cransmill, Clashindarroch Forest prior to the Dec 2009 Christmas break and on their return in early Dec 2010 had to fight their way through a very heavy fall of snow to retrieve their machines and bring them down to lower ground.
As Calum demonstrates in this image, the snow at this high elevation site was waist deep and by bringing them down to the Bin Forest they were able to work a little as the snow was a mere half meter in depth.
In the PDF the trucks can be seen in snow dug roads, also Roy MacGregor standing beside the Volvo BM grader as he uncovers the tow bar to hitch on the diesel bowser and finally Calum climbs on board his John Deere harvester to begin the long drive out. The John Deere forwarder is sitting behind ready to go also.
