Fordson Major tracked tractor bogged at Inshriach
Photograph courtesy of Jim McIntyre who goes on to say:
‘The Forson Major tractor fitted with long tracks is bogged during operations to plough and drain unplanted bog areas in Inschriach Forest. This work was being carried out throughout the forest area during the latter part of the 1960's. This particular area was chosen as a demonstration site during a visit by the Moderator of the Church of Scotland. Henceforth the area was always referred to as 'The Moderator's Bog'! --- perhaps it still is?’
The attached PDF shows another view of the tractor and surrounding very soft waterlogged ground. The pine trees have naturally refused to grow on the hostile tree growing conditions.
